New Mexico Health Care Authority Awards Fairbanks LLC Multi-Program Contract for RMS, Medicaid and Title IV-E Administrative Claiming

Chicago, Illinois, July 1, 2024

The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) awarded a competitively bid contract to Fairbanks for the continuation of Random Moment Sampling (RMS), Medicaid and Title IV-E Administrative Claiming across seven (7) sister agency programs. Key agencies included are the Department of Health (DOH), Aging & Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD), Children, Youth & Families Department (CYFD), and the University of New Mexico.

Fairbanks began working with these sister agencies in 2020 to implement RMS and streamline Administrative Claiming. This effort involved the creation and submission of MAC Claiming Guides and policy negotiations with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for plan approvals. In 2022, Fairbanks partnered with CYFD to transition and optimize the Title IV-E Administrative Claiming program which included updates to the Public Assistance Cost Allocation Plan (PACAP), comprehensive training for staff and participants, and audit support. With this new contract, Fairbanks will continue its partnership with the HCA to enhance these programs and ensure compliance with the latest federal Medicaid claiming requirements.
